tinchen: a rubber duckie in fronst of a swirl of colours (weird)
After deleting Facebook and Instagram and getting reacquainted with Dreamwidth, I also strolled through my LJ. I couldn't, and still can't, bring myself to delete it. There are so many memories!
One thing was very interesting: when I read through 2004 and 05, I found less and less mentions of my then boyfriend. After we got together, nearly every entry mentioned him. The interesting thing is that I also hardly remember the time I was with him. Yes, it was mainly seeing each other on weekends and when we were together during the semester breaks I didn't write as much, but he really seemed to be less of a factor in my daily life.
It's a bit of a relief, really. I know that the time I was with him wasn't something I cared to remember too much, since it ended disastrous, but I was starting to worry about this hole I felt in was there in my memories. Seems there isn't a hole - he just wasn't present in my mind most of the time.
I do remember my time on LJ as a whole very fondly, but it wasn't my first online-community that fell apart and it wasn't the last.

Recently, I turned my back on some social media sites (hopefully) for good. Even staying in touch with people doesn't justify the endless flood of ads and with AI-generated "content" rampant, I just couldn't stand it any more. I checked my LJ for fun and remembered this account. Lo and behold, some people are still here.
I hope you're doing well, and maybe I'll be more active on here again, too.

Just so that you know: this Tinchen is the same as the Livejournal Tinchen. I'm actually not really active, but I exist, so to speak.
Cheers!
