Memory Lane
Jun. 27th, 2024 03:00 pmAfter deleting Facebook and Instagram and getting reacquainted with Dreamwidth, I also strolled through my LJ. I couldn't, and still can't, bring myself to delete it. There are so many memories!
One thing was very interesting: when I read through 2004 and 05, I found less and less mentions of my then boyfriend. After we got together, nearly every entry mentioned him. The interesting thing is that I also hardly remember the time I was with him. Yes, it was mainly seeing each other on weekends and when we were together during the semester breaks I didn't write as much, but he really seemed to be less of a factor in my daily life.
It's a bit of a relief, really. I know that the time I was with him wasn't something I cared to remember too much, since it ended disastrous, but I was starting to worry about this hole I felt in was there in my memories. Seems there isn't a hole - he just wasn't present in my mind most of the time.
I do remember my time on LJ as a whole very fondly, but it wasn't my first online-community that fell apart and it wasn't the last.
